From the 1st of March 2009 all students who do not live in London have the opportunity to learn English at St. Nicholas College of London online. Online lessons are based on private one-to-one sessions with our best teachers and are organized in the form of video conferences. Technical requirements.

To allow a student to learn English online through Skype software his computer should satisfy the following requirements:
- Fast PC or Apple Macintosh
- Fast Broadband Internet connection
- Webcam, headsets and microphone
- The latest Skype software must be installed on the work station (can be downloaded for free here)



Format of the lessons

At the moment St. Nicholas College is only able to provide one-to-one private lessons online. These tutorials are much more effective than the lessons in groups. It is enough as many as 3-5 online lessons per week to achieve the same speed of learning as achieved by students learning in groups 10-15 hours per week. Private lessons also help a teacher to concentrate on the problems of one particular student, which help to speed up the progress.

A teacher can see and hear his student thanks to video conference features of the Skype software. A student can also see and hear the teacher.

Registration fee: £20

Trial session

Every student is entitled to take a free 15 minutes trial session online. This small lesson will help to check the internet connection as well as allow testing of a student. THE TRIAL LESSON IS FREE, but St. Nicholas College will have to reserve £20 on the student's debit/credit card in order to book the time for the session. The £20 will be taken by the school if a student misses his lesson or does not arrive in time. In case the student desires to enrol and book more online lessons, £20 will be charged in addition to the course fee as the standard registration fee. If the Internet connection appears to be slow or a student does not like the lesson, £20 will not be taken from the student's card.
