St. Nicholas College of London offers a proven course to all students wishing to take the IELTS exam so as to enter higher education or maximise their career prospects.
The course breaks down into 3 parts:
THE SPEAKING MODULE is at the heart of the course. Students are given the opportunity to speak about a wide range of topics which they may be given in the IELTS test. The teacher will provide examples, new and relevant vocabulary and expressions and any necessary correction so that the student's English is enriched to the point where they feel confident in spontaneous speaking.
THE WRITING MODULE is complemented by the speaking module. Teacher/student discussions will give the student a method of expressing clear, coherent arguments and opinions in essays and reports. The teacher will show the student how to use academic English to write about topics as diverse as Technology, Sport, Mass Media and even Marriage!
THE READING AND LISTENING MODULE will give the student strategies as to decide what the answers in an IELTS test should be before listening or reading and to take the important information from spoken conversations, radio reports, lectures and written articles. Again, skills learnt in the other modules will increase the student's ability in these disciplines.
The course is 72 or 128 lessons in total and runs 12 weeks or 8 weeks. Each lesson lasts of 50 minutes.
St. Nicholas College is sure that any student enrolling on the course will find it a rewarding learning experience that will enable them to take the IELTS exam in confidence.
